A headstrong hopeful kiss,
With courage and some anguish,
Puckered- up against indecision,
Clumsy eager for its secret mission.
Impatient fledging tired of rest,
A leap of faith from its safe nest,
Across the void of our eclipse,
But quickly faltered on frozen lips,
Falling, lost and out of place,
From the unrequiting pout,
Of a fair but distant face.
Where did it go, I made my wishes,
With all the worlds orphaned kisses,
Speaking coyly of their near misses,
Yearning for their one 'if only',
I hope mine doesn't get too lonely.
